The core mission of Beatrice Bruno, The Drill Sergeant of Life, is to help those who desire to become the Commanders they were created to be in the Army of Life, but more importantly, in the Army of the Lord!
After my initiation into the United States Army between March and August of 1977, there was no way in the world I would ever consider becoming a Drill Sergeant.
God obviously had other plans. Funny how life works out, isn't it?
Late in 1986, my company commander, then-Captain Gary F. Lamb, nominated be for Drill Sergant duty. At the time, we were assigned to the United States Army Europe Band and Chorus: I was a singing soldier.
I was appalled!
About 10 years into my Army career, I had no thoughts or inclinations of becoming a Drill Sergeant…or so I thought. I had been nominated: the deed was done. With the Army, there were no take-backs!
I was accepted into the Drill Sergeant program.
I reported to Fort Dix, NJ in June 1987. I was assigned as a hard-hat, a Drill Sergeant Candidate, before my class started at the Fort Dix US Army Drill Sergeant Academy in October.
I was in shock.
I was assigned to touch and affect the lives of brand new recruits as they became some of the same soldiers you currently see returning from Army bases and war zones around the world.
At the time, I did not look at it as a privilege. I looked at it as my duty…a military duty I did not want.
But I did it.
I served for two years as a Drill Sergeant. I loved it!
Good at my job, my main focus was getting these new recruits through 8 weeks of Basic Training so they could be all they could be in the Army.
I learned many things while serving as a Drill Sergeant:
1. The main reason a Basic Trainee could not endure eight weeks of training was because he/she needed to get over him or herself.
2. A good swift (sometimes) mental kick to the seat of the pants needed to be applied. This assisted the soldier in getting out of his or her own way, making it possible to have a 99.9% chance of completing Basic Training and moving on toward being a Soldier.
3. In order to get what you want out of life, not everyone would make it.
Basic Training was not for everyone. Some, we sent home. They were not going to make it through the training process. Some were sent back through training because they needed a restart.
Where are you in your life?
What has God called you to in this particular season?
Who are you called to be?
Whether you acknowledge it or not, you are on the Battlefield of Life. Many of you are currently in a form of Basic Training as you forge through different skirmishes and battles to make it to where you desire to be at this point.
The Drill Sergeant of Life has been assigned to a Boot-Camp near you! She is committed to meeting your needs.

Beatrice's Testimony…
My Granddad, Freeman Stalworth, passed when I was 13. My life took a nosedive. I went wild, and began hanging out with a very unsavory crew. After Daddy passed, there was no one left to care for me, to my way of thinking.
I began playing basketball in the 7th grade; I was actually very good. Basketball was an outlet for me.
My coach, the late Coach Jean Johnson, became a surrogate mother for me. She cared for me; she talked to me and gave me counsel. Even with all her awesomeness, though, she could not prevent my going astray and following the wrong crowd.
During my junior year of high school when I was 16, I got pregnant. The only things I did right at that time were decide to keep my baby, and to finish high school.
After my gorgeous daughter was born, I made another decision that would totally affect my life for the rest of my life: I joined the US Army.
In the Army, I would become something more than that 'fast Stalworth gal.' I would become a soldier, one who moved differently than she had ever moved before.
I didn't know God had orchestrated this whole scenario so I would later become The Drill Sergeant of Life, helping people get over themselves, get out of their own way, and let go of the PAST so they could get what they wanted out of life.
And now, that's me!
By God's grace and mercy, He turned my life around so I could be all HE has created me to be in these seasons of my life.
On May 15, 1991, God got my attention: I received Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. My life has not been the same since.
I have been walking, talking, preaching, and teaching the Kingdom of God since then.
But, there are things God is still doing in my life. You see, God has a plan for you, for each of us. Just because you get off the path He originally created for you does not mean that what He placed inside of you before the foundations of the world were set into existence are gone.
Philippians 1:6, KJV. I am confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you is faithful to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Between the ages of 10 and 15, the only things I wanted to be in life were Writer and Attorney. When I got pregnant at 16, my family immediately told me I had ruined my life and I would never be anything in life. At that time, I believed them. I left that dream behind and joined the Army.
Fast forward 50 years: I meet Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump face-to-face. I tell him my story of where I wanted to be in life, what I was told, and what I believed. He looked at me and quickly convinced me that my age and experience are needed in the field of law. Today, I am currently working on my Bachelor's in Forensic Psychology, with the end goal of achieving my law degree. It's never too late!
That's what it means to get over yourself, get out of your own way, and get what you want, what God has ordained for you, out of life! The work God has begun in you will be completed by Him. He wants you to be who He created you to be!
My goal is still No Soldier Left Behind. We are all called to be Soldiers in the Army of the Lord. My position and posture is as an Attorney, eventually Judge, in the Army of Life and the Army of the Lord.
I intend to take my place and be ALL I was created to be. As should you!
In this season, I am revamping all my programs for you. Stay tuned! We have courses designed just for you in the season you are in. Check us out!
God bless Y'all!
